Walk your own path, Footman.
It is time to start thinking about where you wish to go in this militia. Do you want to be a Marksman, a Watcher, an Ironarm, a Besieger or a Corsair?
Approach one of the Officers of your preferred route in the militia and start planning your next step. Do you need training from them? Do they need to start preparing your divisional tasks? Are you cut out for their division?
I would like a report of this; what your preferred route in the militia is, who you spoke to and what do you need to do to take the next step. At least one sketch of you talking to the officer must be provided.
Secure the south!
Lead a patrol down the Southern Road. You must visit the hot spots for danger; liches, orcs and brigands. Ensure that you cull their numbers and make sure there is no evidence of the recent rise in Undead activity in the area, nothing should be out of the ordinary. Report back with sketches. At least 5 Guardsmen must attend.
Gotta' recruit 'em all!
We need more trainees, lad. With you footmen progressing at an alarming rate we're going to have to replace you. Lead a recruitment event with at least 2 other guardsmen, you must leave banners, talk to people and spread the good word of the militia. Design your event yourself, it must last at least 30 minutes. A report with pictures must be provided.
"Sauce?" - "No, idiot, resources!"
Kilts, sashes, boots and tools! Footman we're lacking in resources to make the very basics. You can find the raw materials for all of these items within Yew. Our thriving farms will provide you with the wool to make ten kilts and sashes, the wildlife will provide you with enough hides to make ten pairs of boots. Finally you should lead a patrol of more than three Guardsmen to the Orc Mines, right down to the bottom and kill the brutes that protect the metal. Bring back at least 50 Iron Ingots so that the tinkers can get to work on tools for survival kits. A report with pictures must be provided, the items for this task should be stored in the appropriate places.

Resources! Part 1Attending:Trainee John Pick Trainee Osgar Footman Andrew Hill (Leading) Rookie Corsair James Sward Corsair Corporal Borgio
I initially took Trainee Osgar out patrolling through Haven and then to Sacrifice where we killed earth elementals and ratmen, we were joined there by Trainee John Pick and his axe. He took down several large golden ratties after a bit of work on our cross-healing. Both trainees were able to fight and keep their comrades up by the end of the first patrol. With this many Guardsmen with me and I guessed a few more in Stonekeep I decided that now was a good time to head down to the Orc Mines to see about getting some metal for the Craftsmen.
We killed a total of five of them massive brutes and brought home fifty metal ingots for the craftsmen to work with. I'll head out tomorrow and get the cloth and leather for the other parts to this task, but for now I'm going to bed.

Resources! Part 2Heading out this morning I went straight for the sheep pens. My farming background had given me a head start here, sheering sheep was a walk in the park, it's the spinning and using the loom that I'd struggle with. Anyway after a few lessons in the tailor shop I had the required materials that I needed. Headed back to Stonekeep to leave the order with the Craftsmen.
Then I headed out down the Eastern Road to look for larger animals that I could kill for leather. Troll, Ogre, Headless, Troll, Ettin. Can't skin any of these! Finally some cows and bears. A bit messier than sheep sheering but eventually I lugged the necessary hides back to Stonekeep for the new boots.
A few hours later I went back to collect the order and stored it away for Captain Wilkes.

I finally found Corporal Tripps to speak about my future and my intentions to try and join the ranks of the Besiegers.
He spoke at length about the image of the Besieger and how they are the first in to the fight and the last out and that I must ensure from now on I strive to perform to this standard.
He also issued an additional task that I must start collecting Shadow-Iron metal for my Uniform, should I be successful.
Back to the mines it is, Captain.

Secure the South! Attending: Trainee Osgar Footman Art Footman Hill (Leading) Rookie Waywatcher Harper Waywatcher Natalie Besieger Corporal Tripps OutpostsBoth Southern Outposts were cleared and checked by Trainee Osgar, both in complete working order with no damage to report.LichesNormal behaviour was reported in the Lich Forest, no extra activity or presence of anything other than what is generally expected. Many Liches laid back to rest.Orc FortWe marched onto the Orc Fort, slaying left and right. The Guardsmen complete my commands to stay behind me perfectly as we advanced through the doors shields first and slew anything that charged at us. Nothing out of the ordinary. Corporal Tripps kept Footman Art behind at the fort for some additional training while the rest of us headed onwards to the Brigand Fort. Brigand FortThis is where we noticed something out of the ordinary. There was a buzz about the place, something wytchcrafty that I couldn't put my finger on. Everything was much tougher to kill, despite having no armour. I think this needs investigating further to see if there is some kind of Wytch holed up in there orchestrating things. Alas, we did not have enough Guardsmen or time to ransack the Fort. It would have incurred losses.
Finally I marched the group to Shame to finish the patrol, I know this was not part of the task but it seemed fitting to complete my securing of the South.

Recruitment! Attending:
Trainee Osgar Footman Art Footman Hill (Leading) Rookie Waywatcher Harper Waywatcher Natalie Veteran Guard Oldar
I handed out banner material at Yew Moongate and instructed everyone to cover New Haven in Guardsmen colours. And that they did. I copied lots of recruitment flyers and we scattered them all over the town. We then stood amongst our colours talking to passers by and even let our potential recruit tag along with us. Rookie Harper was in charge of the potential recruit whilst Waywatcher Natalie spoke with a Covian about a potential joint recruitment event by holding battle games in New Haven or Luna. Footman Art and Trainee Osgar worked hard, talking to everyone they could. Footman Art even tried to recruit an Ettin and a demon but to no avail.
Hopefully there will be some success with the potential recruit, I'm sure he won't be able to resist the Militia's charms.
