Too long have the pirates sailed openly, raiding Yewish cargo ships bound both in and out of the bay. Too long have the militia not shown its naval might which has led to such brazen hostility. This changed tonight.
We assembled at the dock, and boarded the flagship. After initial cannon training (no new holes in the abbey to report) we set off for Jhelom, and the last known whereabouts of the pirate filth.
Soon arriving and coming across the first target "Iron Patch" Cyno, we closed the distance and gave him a broadside, he tried to run, but the flagship is both tougher and faster than anything he had. More cannon shots rained out from our crew, myself keeping the vessel on course and soon their ship was a sitting duck.
Boarding action was taken, whilst Rookie Marksman Black stayed behind and rained death to the crew with his bow, twas once we made it on board and engaged the pirate himself we learned his name should nay be Iron Patch, it should be Iron Fist! He swung at us like a trapped animal, his blows the fiercest ive felt for a while, but eventually, after long minutes of fighting, we managed to slap some chains on him and get him on board.
Nadia started to interrogate him, to learn why they have been openly plundering cargo ships, and hopefully to learn the identity of the mastermind behind it, but he was tight lipped.
Accutely aware that we were sat in what is currently "their" territory, I moved us on, soon spotting another ship to our south east. With the crew well drilled, we engaged, again he tried to run but was nay bother, the pirates seem ill prepared for the onslaught, that what having orcs as crew gets you.
This one barely tickled us, I guess having a fat tongue stops your sword arm working right..... soon he were also down.
Happy that we have made a dent in their forces and morale, and now with a ships hold full of plunder, we made for the floating emporium and handed over the pirate. Curiously, we found some blueprint for parts of the vessels they were sailin, I have plans for this.
This is nay over however, we will need to keep up these patrols in the future to keep Yew and her citizens protected from pirates, my next targets are the smugglers however, those bringing contraband in and out. But thats for another day.
