Well last eve was an interestin' patrol... Ter begin with we's gathered at the Moongate waitin' on some Covian support, as meh 'ad an odd idea after a patrol with Rookie 'Arper and Footman 'Ill.
Tis was when Sergeant Wilkes decided ter inform meh and the others that due to the search fer Nottinbury which sadly 'ad failed ter produce any evidence o' 'is location or condition, that meh was ter be promoted ter full Corporal o' the Besiegers. Which naw means meh needs ter find some recruits.. Meh thinks it's time ter start workin' on some o' the footmen.. Mehhaps the Wild one and 'Ill will be prove upter the task...
Anyways, after the Sergeant 'ad completed 'is "Admin" we's 'eaded off ter Umbra ter the Desert so Marksman Black could complete one o' 'is tasks fer promotion, tis involved trekkin' across the desert ter a ruined pyramid fer a "Sphinx" after a short time we's 'ad killed a 'alf dozen and tis seemed enough fer 'is task. Ter be 'onest 'em nay seemed ter tough fer someone's task...
We's then 'eaded back ter Umbra gate and meh took the Guardsmen and Covians ter Isuma as last time meh went there with 'Arper and 'Ill meh saw one o' those strange candle platforms which meh was curious ter see 'ow tough it was.. In answer ter that it's bloodi tough... The first thin's we's faced was easy and ter be 'onest lead ter a false sense o' security... Lizardmen and explodin' bugs... Then ye got those odd creatures that spit acid everywhere...
Then it got truely interestin' when the odd yeller dragons turned up and wytch lions... At tis point people started ter fall and a few o' us managed ter lure off a large number o' the creatures from the Shrine just east o' the platform... When we's re-deployed it appeared most o' the Covian's 'ad either died or flee'd... Given the Wytch with 'ems attitude meh'd guess 'em flee'd... She's an odd wytch she seems very aggressive and there was some "issue" between 'er and the Templar Initiate that followed us ter the Sphinx...
We's managed ter find Capt'n Morana and the Guardsman Recruit Tingleith and all the Yewish guardsmen still stood... Actually a fairly proud moment fer the Yewish as even in the face o' some strange critters 'em all stood and 'eld where as Covian lower ranks seemed ter be... more cowardly... Mehhaps 'em actually need the Templars ter re-enforce the Virtues in Cove.. Seem's 'em 'ave gained some Sins instead o' Virtues... Tis a shame really as Capt'n Morana seems fairly decent as an officer, sadly must be the influence o' the wytches that damage the quality o' the Guards.
After we'd re-grouped we's 'ead back ter the gate as it appears we's need much greater numbers ter tackle the creatures o' that shrine... Mehhaps somethin' we's should do again when we's can get a larger force o' both Covians and Yewish tergether... But meh thinks we's will need more Covian Officers ter keep 'em in place...
On the way back ter the gate we's found... Well a 'ealer with a mutilated body... So another important lesson is nay trust Yeller 'Ealers...
